NCHL Conference Hockey Tournament

NCHL CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT UNDERWAY!

February 17th-19th the Waldorf Warriors with be hosting the NCHL conference tournament at Roy Noystrom Arena in Albert Lea MN. The Tournament began on Friday with Robert Morris University taking on St Mary’s and University of Wisconsin Oshkosh taking on Lewis University.

Robert Morris University took charge in their first game dominating St. Mary’s at every turn and ended up with a final score of 8-0 and Robert Morris University would go onto to play Waldorf University. University of Wisconsin Oshkosh took on Lewis university in a physical match up, that fought hard to be a 5-2 win for University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, sending them to play in the semi finals against Marian University.

Your Waldorf Warriors received a bye for the first round due to being #2 seed in the conference, where they would automatically go to the semi finals game and would go on to face Robert Morris University at home Saturday night. The Waldorf warriors would strike first with #24 Eric Long scoring the first goal with an assist by #11 Reed Loucks. Robert Morris University would strike back quick and end the first period 1-3. The second period would go on to be hard fought by your warriors and ended the second with a score of 1-4.

Going into the third The Warriors had to go to work and had a mountain to climb, gaining a little life with an early goal in the third making the game 2-4 the warriors would go on to battle out till the end. Robert Morris University would go on to respond quickly and make it a 2-5 game for most of the third period. During the closing minutes Waldorf was able to get a power play goal making it 3-5 but for a brief time as Robert Morris University was able to seal the deal for Waldorf as their last efforts were in vain as Robert Morris University would go onto score two empty net goals, with a final score of 3-7.

Robert Morris University would go onto play Marian university in the championship game where Marian would bring home the victory in a 5-2 win over Robert Morris University. Marian University would then celebrate their victory as they were able to for the first time raise the Hap Cup, as conference champions.
