Homecoming week is here

Waldorf University will be celebrating their Homecoming on October 21, 2017. Although kick off is at 1pm on Saturday, there is many other homecoming events including the Candidate Review, bonfire, and parade, which are open to the community.

Waldorf’s annual candidate review will be held on Thursday October 19, 2017 at 8pm in the atrium at Waldorf University. The candidate review is a unique event that is almost completely planned and ran by students. The event gives students, faculty, and the community to get to know their eight homecoming candidates through videos made by communications students, along with games and trivia on stage. Afterwards, students vote and the homecoming king and queen are crowned that night. There will also be over $150 worth of prizes handed out.

On Friday October 20, 2017 at 8pm in the parking lot next the Hanson Fieldhouse, will be the annual homecoming bonfire. This bonfire will include music, free hot chocolate, candy, and apple cider. All of the captains of fall sports at Waldorf will speak and the pep band will play live music. They will also announce the winners of the Warrior Cup and their prizes. This is an event that the community can come to, and learn about the students and teams at Waldorf University.

Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10am there will be the Waldorf Homecoming parade. The parade will consist of many different floats from all of the clubs and teams at Waldorf. The floats are also competing and could win up to $125 for their creativity on their floats. Many floats will be throwing out candy and other prizes.
