Waldorf wrestling has entered into a new era.

Brad Stockton, former four time All American at Waldorf College, produced eight NAIA national qualifiers, two NAIA scholar athletes, and two North Star Athletic Association scholar athletes over the six years he spent as head coach of the Waldorf University men’s wrestling program. He’s passing the torch on to former Briar Cliff assistant coach, Ryan Dickinson.

Dickinson is a native of Sioux City, Iowa. He wrestled in college at Northern State University (NCAA Division II), but saw his career cut short by injury.

Dickinson then shifted focus to his coaching career. He began coaching at East High School in his hometown. Shortly after, he became an assistant coach at Briar Cliff University. He also completed a one year coaching stint with the Virginia Military Institute (NCAA division I). He returned to Briar Cliff shortly after where he coached for the past three years.

He will show up to Waldorf in March. Dickinson said, “ I plan to get our program numbers well up into the 30-35 range. If we can do that, we will be successful. I also plan on [shaping] this program [in]to one of the top three programs in the conference as well as eventually being able to compete with instate foe and national NAIA powerhouse Grand View State University”
