The Forest City movie theater is now under new management.

The new manager is Hp Kobriger. Kobriger became manager after the previous manager moved on and Phillip was asked to take over the position. Kobriger said, “I’ve been coming to this theater since I was little, so it was a great opportunity to be a part of running the place.”

Anjaih Clemons, Director of Student Activities and New Student Orientation in Student Life, said, “Since the Forest City theatre has changed management, it’s been really great working with them. We’ve talked a bit about how to get more students to the theatre on the weekends and it seems to be going well. I have quite a few students in my office on a daily basis requesting movie tickets. So it’s been awesome to work with them.”

Kobriger is learning as he goes and figuring out how to make the theatre even better. “The advantages of this position is getting to see things from the other side of the counter and getting things ready for the upcoming film. It’s also especially rewarding when everything goes well on opening night,” Phillip said.

On the other hand, there are a few disadvantages of running a new business at first. “It was difficult at first learning how to work the projector and rescheduling my evenings, since I work one job during the day and then rush over to the theater to work at night.”

Sophomore Charlotte Madrid said, “I really enjoy the movies that are being played in the theater. They’ve all been movies that a lot of students would enjoy seeing and I’ve already been to three since we’ve been back from summer vacation.”

Kobriger wants to thank everyone who supports the theater and a special thank you to everyone who help by volunteering their own time to work concessions and sell tickets. “I wouldn’t be able to do this without them,” Kobriger said.

Movie and show times can be found on both the Facebook Page and http://forestcitytheatre.com/.
