On Feb. 12, KZOW hosted their annual Cupid Shuffle Valentines Day event. Thanks to great sponsors, such as Bills Family Foods, Scoopy Doos, Ay Jaliscos and Tree Town Tattoo, KZOW was able to hand out some great prizes. Tallie Horsch won a gift card to Scoopy Doos, a bouquet of flowers went to Jacob Pinedo, a gift card to Tree Town Tattoo went to Michael Templin and the “grand prize” of a dinner for two to Ay Jaliscos went to Jazzie Hohenstein.

We asked some students what their plans were for Valentine’s Day. Michael Morgan said, “I am currently trying to make reservations at fancy restaurants.”

The event was not just about winning prizes. There was a big dance event before the drawing. Students got to de-stress a little by getting down on the dance floor to the Cupid Shuffle. There was also lots of candy and condoms being handed out at the event, making sure everyone had a great Valentine’s Day.

KZOW also had some special guests at the event. Family planning was at the event to make sure everyone had a safe and well planned Valentine’s Day. KZOW invited them so students had a place to go with questions and concerns.

Another great guest KZOW invited was Crisis Intervention. Although no one wants to think about domestic violence, it does happen, and sad to say, it happens a lot on Valentine’s Day. So, KZOW used this event as a way to raise awareness for this cause and to help students that are in need of help. This event is always a big hit on campus and this year was no different.
