Summer is almost here and the pressure to find the best vacation spots in the United States is too. From Washington to Tennessee, here are five of the best summer vacation spots.
Hawaii takes the cake for being the best tropical vacation spot. Hawaii is comprised of 137 islands, so there are bound to be countless activities to do.
According to ordinarytraveler.com, some of the best places in Hawaii to visit includes Black Rock in Maui, Waipi’o Valley in The Big Island, Shipwreck Beach in Kauai and the Na Pali Coast in Kauai. Activities in these locations range from scuba diving, sightseeing and hiking.
Katy Grobe, a Waldorf University Bookstore Assistant, said she would like to be able to take advantage of Hawaii’s white sand beaches to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.
The next trip spot is the Grand Canyon. This natural wonder of the world covers 227 miles in length and stretches 18 miles across and was carved by water from the Colorado River millions of years ago.
The Grand Canyon offers opportunities to experience wildlife, the history of ancient tribes, festivals/events, mule rides, helicopter tours and so much more. This event allows for good exercise and educational experiences as well.
“It’s a world famous place and the views are–from what I have seen from many people’s photos–very beautiful,” said Ying Tzarm, a Waldorf Communications student.
Seattle, Washington is another great vacation opportunity. One of the best destinations in this famous city is the Space Needle. Here, visitors get to experience a glass elevator ride up to the top of the needle and enjoy the view of the city from about 600 feet above. They also have the chance to eat in the restaurant located at the top of the needle.
While in Seattle, tourists can enjoy The Museum of Flight, Pike Place Market, a game at Safeco Field, the Seattle Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, the skyline at night and many other famous Seattle destinations.
Gatlinburg is one of the most well-known cities in Tennessee. Ober Gatlinburg is a popular tourist activity where you take a cable car up the mountains to an amusement park and ski resort.
Other Gatlinburg tourist activities include a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum, Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, mini golf, water parks, and hiking trails. Gatlinburg is also located right near the mountains, allowing visitors to easily visit and explore mountain views.
The final vacation spot is Branson Missouri. Here, tourists enjoy a variety of destinations to explore, such as the Titanic Museum, Silver Dollar City, Hollywood Wax Museum, Marvel Cave, Adventure Ziplines of Branson and the Branson Ferris Wheel.
