On Friday, Jan. 29, the Waldorf hockey team took on Robert Morris University, in a nail biter of a match. Even after an intense shootout, with the warriors on the loosing end, the crowd was just as supportive as ever. With every student on their feet letting the team know just how much they loved them, the Warriors did not loose that game in our eyes.

After the game, all of the fans got the chance to lace up their skates and show the Warriors how much they support them right on the ice. Fans of all ages went out on the ice to get their skate on. There were children that were just learning and some children that were pros, all looked like they were having a blast. Many of the adults on the ice found that skating wasn’t as easy as their favorite team made it look. Luckily, the warriors were very helpful at coaching the more inexperienced skaters, which made the experience even more special.

As the night went on, the skaters began to grow closer to each other, you could see students that have probably never spoken to each other skating side by side. This was a night where Waldorf was more than just a school, it was a community.

“It was really cool to see everyone out on the ice and seeing how much fun ice skating can be,” said hockey player, Jeremy Navarro. “Since it was something I have loved for as long as I can remember.”

Hopefully the Warriors will keep up this great season so the fans can continue to show their support. Thanks to the great group, Waldorf’s Social Warrior Activities Team (S.W.A.T.), the fans were able to get on the ice with the Warriors. Luckily their will be a lot more adventures thanks to S.W.A.T.
