Waldorf offers new vaccine free to students

This past Wednesday was a much awaited and anticipated day for students: a vaccine to fight back against the pandemic was available on campus for students to get.
Millions of people around the world have been waiting for big medical companies to develop an mRNA vaccine to at least prolong immunity if not completely eliminate the virus.
Just over a year after the pandemic began, vaccines began rolling out regularly and were administered to those who are high risk, such as elderly and people with underlying health conditions.
With the availability of vaccines increasing and while already vaccinating the most at risk, the option to get vaccinated is more open to the general public such as college students like ourselves. The Atrium on campus was filled with students who were either waiting their turn or had already received the vaccine that morning.
“It was exciting seeing as many students as there are doing their part in helping slow the spread of this pandemic down,” said a student waiting in line.
College campuses have a big role and impact on the spread of this virus. With the way college is traditionally set up, there is no way around coming into close contact with your fellow students.
Waldorf has worked to control and combat the virus this year, and having a free vaccine clinic on campus only helps in its mitigation efforts. With the final semester of this school year winding down Waldorf looks to continue to actively combat the virus.
