Night Against Procrastination

The Luise V. Hanson Library hosted their annual night against procrastination on Thursday, Mar. 16, 2017, which gives the students a chance to get some studying done in a fun and relaxed environment.
The Night Against Procrastination started at 7 p.m. and ended at 2 a.m. Within this time students were able to meet with their professors and have any questions answered. Students were found working hard on their projects and papers. The library also provided snacks and beverages to help keep the students’ energy up.
Along with snacks and teachers, the writing center was also open until 2 a.m. to help students struggling to write papers. The writing center is able to proofread papers, give tips and help with formatting papers.
To keep the night fun and relaxed, KZOW had a booth, as well, where they played music and interviewed students and teachers. They also promoted their new snapchat and had the students go on a scavenger hunt to win prizes.
Additionally, the library had a prize drawing that happened at 11 p.m., the students were excited for the drawing, and some had waited all night for it.
“I honestly never win anything, so I was pumped when my name was drawn,” said one of the winners, Madison Sterson, “in general, I really liked the Night Against Procrastination, because I had about 10 calculus assignments to get done.”
Some students found the timing of the event a little odd. “I didn’t have much to do at the Night Against Procrastination, because I didn’t have any homework,” said Sophomore Sydney Beasley, “with it being the week after midterms, I didn’t really have anything I had procrastinated on yet. I would have liked for the event to be closer to finals.”
The Library hosts the event every semester as a way for students to get their work done and have a little fun at the same time. The library is open Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Saturdays and open 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.
