Waldorf’s Cox tabbed NSAA Runner of the Week

FOREST CITY – Marquis Cox led the Waldorf University men’s cross country team in last weekend’s Roy Griak Invitational and was honored as the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Runner of the Week on Tuesday.
Cox locked up 105th place in last Saturday’s Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 28 minutes, 13.4 seconds on the 8K course at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. The junior from Mount Laurel, N.ew Jersey was the NSAA’s top performer in the Marron Division II race, which featured 453 runners. Waldorf battled 39 teams, taking home a 28th-place finish behind a team score of 747 points while defeating conference foes Dickinson State University and Dakota State University.
Cox is the second Waldorf runner to earn NSAA Runner-of-the-Week honors this season. His junior teammate Nic Ganzeveld received the honor on Sept. 6.
Waldorf returns to action on Oct. 8 in the Fighting Bee Invitational at Bettendorf, starting at 11:30 a.m.
